The cone crusher bowl assembly includes a bowl, a bowl liner, and a hopper assembly. The bowl with a thread on the outer diameter is suspended on a heavy-duty thread in the adjusting ring. The bowl can be adjusted up or down by turning the bowl counterclockwise or clockwise within the adjustment ring.
The adjustment cover located on the top of the bowl contacts the lip seal on the top of the dust cover that is bolted to the adjustment ring to only provide a protective cover for the bowl and clamping ring. A series of spring-loaded clamping cylinders located around the top of the adjustment ring push the clamping ring upward and raise the drum to the crushing position.
A feed hopper provided on a flange pin at the top of the drum guides the incoming feed to the crushing chamber. Fiberglass insulation filled around the top of the bowl liner seals the debris at the bottom of the hopper. The bottom of the hopper and the hopper shell form a ledge where the feed will accumulate, thereby providing a dead bed that protects the surface of the hopper from the continuous inflow of feed.
Just below the feed hopper and recessed into the drum are a series of wedges or bolts, which firmly fix the replaceable drum lining to the drum. Although the lining is adjustable, it is a fixed crushing part.
