Slurry pumps are mostly double pump shell structure, which is composed of pump body and pump cover, and the impeller, sheath, front guard plate and rear guard plate form the inner pump shell structure. There are three kinds of manufacturing materials for the outer pump casing structure of slurry pump: gray iron, ductile iron and cast steel. The inner pump casing structure is also called the flow-through part of the water pump. There are also three kinds of manufacturing materials, namely KMTBCr26, Cr15Mo3 and rubber.

The inner pump shell structure of the slurry pump is also the over-current component, which accounts for a high proportion of the core manufacturing cost of pump spare parts, which means that it represents the core quality level of the slurry pump and is the first part to be investigated when selecting the slurry pump.

Among the materials for manufacturing the flow-through parts of pump spare parts, KMTBCr26 metal has fine grain, good wear resistance and high cost performance. At present, the flow-through parts of slurry pump 70% all make this material. Although the flow parts made of Cr15Mo3 materials have higher wear resistance, better hardness, and a service life of 1.5 times the KMTBCr26, their cost is higher and up to twice the KMTBCr26, so they have lower cost performance and smaller use range. Rubber has better corrosion resistance in the three manufacturing materials. When the medium contains solid particles that are smooth and have no sharp corners, and the lift of the slurry pump does not exceed 40 meters, it is suitable to choose the over-current parts made of rubber.
